I was trained as a medical doctor, specialized in pediatrics and in immunology.
I focus on everything that is ‘unusual’, from uncommon adverse events of promising treatments to the recognition of rare diseases by non-expert healthcare professionals. For this, I use two very different but – I think – complementary approaches: patient-centered qualitative research on the organization and quality of healthcare, and personalized quantitative research on data-driven solutions for automated support enabling timely recognition of ‘the unusual’. In both topics, I collaborate with data scientist to support development in the field. Do you want to participate in this interdisciplinary research, combining conventional and innovative approaches? Then contact me, and we'll discuss how you can join this challenging effort!
