Responsible Innovation

Jaap Voeten has worked as a technical advisor in Indonesia, Cambodia, Yemen and Vietnam, gaining hands-on experience in small business, entrepreneurship promotion and institutional development projects. His long-term experience in Vietnam, where he lived and worked closely with small producers in rural areas, provides the basis of his research, which became part of the NWO's 'Responsible Innovation' thematic research programme at Tilburg University.


Jaap Voeten obtained his PhD degree at Tilburg University in the field of responsible innovation. The thesis title: 'Understanding Responsible Innovation in Small Producers - Clusters in Northern Vietnam:A grounded theory approach to globalisation and poverty alleviation.'
