Spring walk at Huis ter Heide
Nature wakes up in spring, but how can you tell? We know all about blossoms of course, but there is a lot more to see if you know where to look. Our forester will show you on this special hike.
Program
Huis ter Heide is a hidden gem! Although this nature conservation area is close to Tilburg, it is a haven of tranquility. It is a diverse area with forest, heath, and fens.
The theme of this walk is spring: what happens in nature and what can you discover at this time of year? In addition, the forester will tell us about the history of this nature conservation area, what is living there, and how is nature managed here. We may meet herds of Scottish highland cattle on the way. They help Natuurmonumenten (Society for Preservation of Nature Monuments in the Netherlands) keep the area open.
The entire route is 4.5 kilometers. The walk starts at 10 a.m. and the route ends at 12 p.m. back at the meeting place where we finish with a drink and something tasty.
Costs
The members’ contribution for this activity is € 5 per Unifriends member. It is possible to bring one guest, who pays € 7.50.
Location
We assemble in the Huis Ter Heide parking lot P2, at the crossroads of Middelstraat and Tussenbaan I De Moer.
