DAF Technology Lab Team

Max Louwerse is founder and scientific director of the DAF technology Lab. He is Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University, has published over 160 publications in academic outlets, has acquired €45 million in research project funds and holds two patents. He works in cognitive science and artificial intelligence, specifically on virtual, mixed and augmented reality, virtual humans, intelligence tutoring systems, and stealth assessment. 

Ilse Souhail joined the team in 2023 after many years of experience in project management and grant acquisition. She managed projects that involved large consortiums and that focus on societal challenges. She likes working in a dynamic environment, with different partners, different interests, looking for solutions and ensuring that what we do at DAF Technology Lab is a joint success.

Hans is a Creative Generalist how loves to apply innovative technology, exchanging ideas and teamwork to advance research and education. 

Anton has been a Virtual Reality Programmer for the DAF Technology LAB from its very beginning. For Anton, the technological challenges are for ever ongoing, which makes this for him the best job of the entire university!

Software Developer with experience as a Unity game developer for over 8 years, especially in Virtual Reality and educational contexts; as a generalist programmer for over 20 years, spanning fields from databases to real-time price and stock exchange systems to network protocols to game worlds.

Programmer with great interest in 3D programming, mathematics and spatial design. 

Peter supports the Lab as Technician Education and Research.

Yoan is an Agents Developer and extremely passionate about 3D characters. His ultimate goal is to create most realistic and responsive avatars, but he also likes 3D modeling, fine arts and games.

Jasper is game design and development trainee at the DAF Technology Lab, aiming for his bachelor's in Information & Communication Technology at Fontys University of Applied Sciences. Jasper has a strong interest in serious games and puzzle solving, putting him in the perfect spot at the Lab.
