No trains to and from Tilburg between April 28 and May 13
11th April 2024Between Sunday, April 28, and Monday, May 13, 2024, there will be no trains from, to, or via Tilburg. During these fifteen days, construction work will take place at Tilburg Central Station and at Tilburg Universiteit. In addition, ProRail will be working on the train tracks between Tilburg and Breda, and between Tilburg and Vught.

Tilburg University has achieved several top positions in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024
10th April 2024In line with previous years, Tilburg University has achieved several top positions in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Since 2020, our university has ranked in the worldwide top 100 in the broad faculty area of Social Sciences & Management. Our ranking rose from a 94th position in 2023 to a 88th position in 2024 in this area.

Reviewing language policy and update Internationalization

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Executive Board has decided to review Tilburg University’s language policy, which dates from 2017. This has been prompted by current views on our own language policy, new technological solutions, and the anticipation of possible new legislation.

The Easter hunt returns!
27th March 2024Join us tomorrow, Thursday, March 28th at 8:30 AM. The Easter Bunny has hidden 30 golden eggs filled with great prizes around campus. The golden eggs are hidden outside on the campus and inside the following buildings: Sports Center, Cube, Marga Klompé, Academia, the Library and Cobbenhagen. But keep in mind, they're in the common areas, not in lecture halls or offices. Ready to start the treasure hunt? Good luck!

Anke Liefbroer deserving finalist in the national Teacher of the Year election 2024
26th March 2024Anke Liefbroer (Tilburg School of Catholic Theology) was honored yesterday as one of the four finalists of the national Teacher of the Year election in Theater De Kom in Nieuwegein. Our congratulations to the winner, Peter Pelzer (Utrecht University), finalists Hanneke Velthuijsen (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), Chris Attai (Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen), and of course our own Tilburg University colleague Anke Liefbroer.

Festive opening of the Community Garden
14th March 2024March 12 saw the festive opening of the Community Garden on our campus. This Community Garden, next to Academia building, is a student initiative that was received with great enthusiasm and support by the Tilburg Young Academy. When the university proved to be equally thrilled, the dream could be realized! Thanks to the hard work of Tilburg Young Academy and Facility Services, the Community Garden is now a reality.

Pilot of individual study spaces without reservation extended to April 10th
14th March 2024During the recent student sounding board meeting, the interim results of the pilot, which involves making individual study spaces accessible without reservation via LibCal, were evaluated. Thanks to a positive evaluation, it has been decided to extend the pilot until April 10, 2024, the date of the final evaluation of the pilot.

04th March 2024On Monday, March 11, an e-mail will be sent to all employees and students from the external party 'Het Stembureau' (voting application). This e-mail allows you to register as a candidate for the University Council or the School Council between March 11 and 13. Since this e-mail will be marked as ‘external’ in Outlook, and the sender is unknown, it might evoke some questions. We appreciate everyone’s awareness when it comes to (cyber) security risks, but want to inform you that this e-mail is genuine and safe to open.

More student housing available
22nd February 2024Tilburg University, together with the City of Tilburg and housing corporations, is committed to the realization of more student accommodation. We think it is a major priority that there is enough affordable housing to meet the needs of our students. We are pleased that more and more student housing is being completed so that students can start their studies and their lives in Tilburg. Some student accommodation is still available.

Tilburg University responds to ongoing internationalization debate
08th February 2024On February 8, Universiteiten van Nederland (universities of the Netherlands, UNL) published its “Package of measures for self-regulation: strengthening the Dutch language and managing the intake of international students”. At Tilburg University, the implementation of these measures will be worked out in cooperation with the Schools and the participation bodies.
