Learning a Language at the Language Center
Tilburg University is an internationally oriented research and education institute. The Language Center assists students, university staff, and non-university students in improving their language proficiency.
Are you highly educated and do you want to improve your Dutch or learn Dutch as a 2nd language (Nt2)? Then you can choose from a wide range of courses. If you want to learn a foreign language, you are also at the right address at the Language Center.
Learn a foreign Language for free with your language vouchers
Tilburg University offers its students the opportunity to follow free language courses. Are you enrolled at Tilburg University and paying tuition fees here? If so, you will have received twelve digital language vouchers at the start of your studies. Exchange students and Pre-Master's students also receive these twelve language vouchers.

French for beginners 1
If you do not have any knowledge of French yet, this course is just right for you. In 7 weeks, all skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) are covered briefly. The course focuses mainly on oral communication. You will soon be able to have simple conversations in French.

Thesis Writing Workshop
The Thesis Writing Workshop is designed to address the specific challenges encountered while writing your final thesis, whether it is a Bachelor's or a Master's thesis. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on enhancing unity and coherence in writing, integrating resources effectively, refining editing and feedback processing skills, and adhering to academic style and conventions. Various aspects of grammar, vocabulary, and text structure are explored in relation to these key areas.

Chinese for beginners 1
In this course you will practice intensively the tones and sounds of Mandarin and build vocabulary at a rapid pace. You will learn to write Chinese characters and become proficient in Pinyin, the system of representing Chinese in Latin letters.

Sign Supported Dutch
The Sign Supported Dutch course is designed for anyone who wants to learn to communicate with gestures to enable you to interact with deaf or hard of hearing people in both professional and personal contexts.

Nt2: Advanced (toward C1) - Writing Clear Texts for Work and Study Purposes
In this module, you will practice writing longer texts, such as an academic paper, a policy text, a position paper, or a report. Your own writing product is central. With the help of assignments, you will learn to look at your own texts critically in order to take the next step in your writing skills.
