|โI really liked the course as Tilburg University is one of the few universities in the Netherlands that offers a course solely focused on Economics and it has a great ranking with a diverse program.โ

โI would describe it as a very charming city that grows on you with amazing people you meet from all over the world.โ

โI think what pleasantly surprised me was how friendly and accepting everyone I meet from university is. Despite the different cultures and background everyone gets along really well creating a very accepting environment.โ

โI have actually lived in the Netherlands since I was 12. However, something I miss the most about my home country would definitely be the food.โ

โLearn how to bike! It will be one of the most useful things while living in the Netherlands.โ

โStudying in the Netherlands is really fun, but different to how I saw it, living in England. For example, here the accommodations are completely different, being student houses and private student complexes. England usually has big accommodations on university campus.
The University and courses itself is really good. They are all taught in English in a very internationally minded way, with all the teachers being really good, approachable and competent. I like that the relationship with the lecturers is so good and sort of informal, as it makes you feel more easy.โ

โI think that the thing I had to get used to the most was my study schedule. University is much more intense than previous education, and thus, demands you to study a lot more and for much longer hours each day.โ

โI surprisingly did not feel very homesick when moving here. I quite like living on my own, however I do miss my family and parents. I miss the Slovak food the most though as here it is much harder to get and I also am not able to make it as well as my parents can.โ

โI know this sounds a bit clichรฉ as I am from ESN, but honestly, I would have to say that their bar Carpe Noctem has almost become my second home at this point. I really love the people there as I have gotten to know everyone so well. That makes it a really fun place to go.โ

โI would say that the best part about making international friends is the new food you get to experience. It is a shame that a lot of people don't know some of these cuisines and I am so happy that I have the opportunity to try so many.โ

โI love living and studying in Tilburg because it is one of the most international places I've ever been to. I had the chance to meet lots of interesting people and understand their world views.โ

โThe Italian university system is completely different, so I had to adapt to different methods and ways of working and studying. Personally speaking, I did not expect to be able to ride a bike for so long and under every weather condition... it's a great achievement for me.โ

โApart from Dutch people not using the umbrella and not caring about the rain, for me it was like a trauma at the beginning, I was surprised about how friendly and sociable Dutch people are. Some Tilburg residents stopped me while I was walking and asked me about my experience here, and they were so happy to hear it!โ

โI would say that The Netherlands are modern, up-to-date, ideal for young and international people. And the cities I visited are so interesting, full of beautiful places and amazing shops. In my opinion, it is one of the best countries to live in for international students.โ

โI think that Dutch students tend to stick with other friends from the same country and Internationals do the same. That is too bad! International students are so diversified and curious.โ
