Summary:
Learning from governance in Region Deals is the goal of the 3-year trajectory ‘leren en monitoren van governance in de regio’. 18 regions have been selected for a Region Deal with the Dutch government. This form of cooperation is new. Public-private cooperation in the region has never before been combined with co-financing from the government. This is the reason that the ministries of Interior and Kingdom Relations and Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality are taking the initiative for the trajectory ‘leren en monitoren van governance in de regio’. The intention of this trajectory is that the participating parties exchange experiences with each other and consequently can learn from each other about effective ways to arrange governance of Region Deals. The development of the governance models will be monitored and compared to each other.
The trajectory consists of among others three lab-sessions each year, in which regional parties will discuss each other’s plans and performance of regional governance. The support team consists of Martijn Groenleer (Tilburg University), Erik Stam (Utrecht University), and a consortium of Birch and Berenschot.
