Farewell address Henk Schoot: The Meaning of Baptism for Church and Culture
21st February 2023There is no part of the Christian faith or it can be associated with baptism. Baptism is a sacrament, confers grace and bestows new life. It goes back to the baptism of Jesus, which has been depicted many times on religious works of art and icons with beautiful symbolism. These are some of the reasons why baptism is so fascinating, argues outgoing professor of theology Henk Schoot in his speech on March 3.

New book on Franciscan ethics: radical, appealing and applicable
14th February 2023The Franciscan Institute has published the volume "Morality as Goodness-in-Relationship," which expands on the Franciscan principles of goodness, conversion, relationality and exemplarity. The book comes ten years after the publication of the seminal work on Franciscan ethics, "The Franciscan Moral Vision." The new volume was edited by Dr. Krijn Pansters of the Franciscan Study Center at Tilburg University and Fr. David Couturier, O.F.M. Cap., director of the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University.

Keuzegids Universiteiten 2023: Two top-rated programs and six Bachelor’s programs rank # 1
24th November 2022In the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2023, published today, two Bachelor’s programs at Tilburg University are awarded the quality label of "top program," while students have ranked six Tilburg University Bachelor’s programs as the best in their field. In the annual Keuzegids Universiteiten, all academic Bachelor’s programs are compared, largely based on student satisfaction measured through the National Student Survey (NSE).
