On Wednesday, September 27, the Grand Opening of the new MindLabs building in Spoorzone took place. This building lends itself not only to research and education, but also to events, such as during the 'Weekend van de Wetenschap'.

During Weekend van de Wetenschap, a national event, science institutions all around the Netherlands, including the MindLabs building in Tilburg's Spoorzone, were open to the public on 7 and 8 October for a look behind the scenes of science and technology.

In collaboration with MindLabs, Tilburg University Junior organized a program for children on robots, artificial intelligence, and other new technologies. Scientists talked about their research during interactive demonstrations and Junior lectures.

"Weekend van de Wetenschap was the perfect opportunity to tell young and old about research, games, and AI. I hope that we have inspired the youngest generations by introducing them to the new technologies that we study in MindLabs" – says Tilburg University researcher Kyana van Eijndhoven, who provided a demonstration for a young audience.

This event was the first time that MindLabs opened its doors to this young generation. More than 550 visitors came to have a look. “We really enjoyed welcoming this enthusiastic audience," says Mirjam Siesling, Program manager at MindLabs.
