Symposium 'Werk Capabilities aan het Werk'
Wat men belangrijk vindt in werk (werkwaarden) en werkwaardering zijn sterk bepalend voor duurzame inzetbaarheid en psychische gezondheid van werknemers.
In dit symposium gaan sprekers in op de ontwikkelingen en toepassingen van het werk-capability model en duurzame inzetbaarheid in arbeid. De dag wordt afgesloten met de afscheidsrede van prof. dr. Jac van der Klink getiteld 'Stenen houwen of kathedralen bouwen'.

Hoogleraar Health Technology Assessment, Radboud Universitair Medisch CentrumWerk: verbinding met waarde?
Eén van de grote denkers van onze tijd is Amartya Sen. Hij houdt ons voor dat we bij alles wat we doen de capability van onszelf en van anderen goed in de gaten moeten houden. Dat geldt ook voor het werk dat we verrichten. In mijn bijdrage zal ik een korte inleiding geven op het capability begrip: wat is dat, en hoe kan het uitpakken als we het toepassen op werk?
Gert Jan van der Wilt is hoogleraar Health Technology Assessment aan het Radboud Universitair Medisch Centrum. Hij onderzoekt wat de impact van gezondheidszorg kan zijn op capability van patiënten.

Sridhar Venkatapuram
Associate Professor, King’s Global Health Institute, LondonSridhar is an academic researcher, educator and practitioner in global health and philosophy. His work brings health related natural and social sciences together with philosophy in order to understand and address health inequalities and injustice within and across countries. He has recently finished working for one year in the Global Health Ethics Unit of the World Health Organization in Geneva. Sridhar’s most well known work relates to applying the Capabilities Approach to health and health inequalities, particularly the argument for the moral and human right to the capability to be healthy. His presentation will discuss the international applications of the capabilities approach from global institutions to national and local contexts and, in particular, the international applications of the work capability model, and its relevance and potential applications for our future of work and wellbeing.
