02nd March 2021As of 1 February 2021, Dr. Charissa Freese, chair of the board of the People Management Center and senior researcher at the Department of Human Resource Studies, and Dr. Irmgard Borghouts, researcher at the Department of Private, Business & Labour Law of Tilburg Law School, have been jointly appointed to the new chair "HRM and Social Security".

Throughout the past, the International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR) has frequently reported on studies that are relevant in order to understand how organizations can deal with several challenges, such as the current crisis. The special COVID-19 edition of IJMR contains references to the most relevant articles, and a response from the authors in the context of COVID-19 has been included as well.

23rd December 2019On December 6, Jaap Paauwe was interviewed by RTL Z on performance reviews. He and Tosca Gort discussed how these conversations can be optimized. Jaap explains how in the traditional form of performance reviews, people are confronted with their weaknesses, which is very demotivating.

DSM Grant for research in People Analytics (HRS)
17th December 2019Prof. Jaap Paauwe and dr. Karina van de Voorde have obtained a grant (€200.000) for a four-year appointment of a PhD student in the area of People Analytics. PhD Student Rubin Steegh will be involved in several projects in the area of well-being, engagement and performance, based on the availability of workforce data and the sampling of so-called experience data
