Summary

The Delta Region initiative, a triple helix collaboration, has requested TiREG to conduct research on how to monitor and evaluate the effects of network collaboration in relation to the Delta Region initiative (concerning roughly the southwestern part of the Netherlands).

The project focuses on the following questions: How does network collaboration within the Delta Region function? What are the effects of this collaboration? How can these effects be monitored and evaluated?

To answer these questions, the study investigates the interactions between business, government and knowledge institutions in the Delta Region. It adopts a dynamic approach, studying these interactions over time, and is comparative in nature, juxtaposing interactions in different economic clusters (logistics, maintenance en biobased).

An important part of the research is the development of an innovative monitoring and evaluation instrument. This instrument will allow for assessment of the effectiveness as well as the legitimacy of network collaboration.
