Two bachelor student teams from the CSAI program won International BCI hackathon
08th November 2022For a third time in a row, two bachelor student teams from the CSAI program won the International BCI hackathon. A total of 167 participants in 38 teams took part in the BR41N.IO BCI Hackathon worldwide. This is a prestigious event in the domain of neural engineering and brain-computer interfacing where many researchers and graduate students come together to innovate in two days of intense coding.

Brain Hacking at MindLabs – CSAI students carry the day in international BR41N.IO Hackathon
04th May 2022Two CSAI bachelor student teams achieved a spot on the victory stage during the international BR41N.IO Hackathon this weekend. This online event takes place twice a year to great interest from the field, coinciding with the Brain Computer Interface spring school and the IEEE SMC conference in the fall. This year, 45 teams from 53 countries participated virtually in the hackathon, with many countries organizing accompanying on-site events.

Tilburg University partner in Gravitation research program 'The Algorithmic Society’
02nd May 2022Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf of Education, Culture and Science has awarded 21.3 million euros under NWO's Gravitation program to the project 'The Algorithmic Society' of a consortium of five universities led by the University of Amsterdam. Tilburg Law School is a co-applicant and bears responsibility for one of the three areas of research in the project, the judiciary.

Children learn second language words better through more involvement with robots
14th April 2022When children interact with robots over a long period of time, they inevitably develop a relationship with them. Mirjam de Haas investigated how this relationship and involvement with the robot can change over time due to the robot's behavior. More familiarity with the robot leads to better learning performance in the long run. De Haas will receive her doctorate on April 20.

New EU research project BEAMER aims to improve patients' therapy adherence
11th November 2021Failure to adhere to therapy (non-adherence) is associated with negative, sometimes dangerous, patient outcomes and significant healthcare costs. Therefore the International Initiative for Innovative Medicines (IMI) of which Tiburg University makes part, supported by the EU, announced today the launch of a project investigating the factors that influence patients' adherence to therapy.
