No trains to and from Tilburg between April 28 and May 13
11th April 2024Between Sunday, April 28, and Monday, May 13, 2024, there will be no trains from, to, or via Tilburg. During these fifteen days, construction work will take place at Tilburg Central Station and at Tilburg Universiteit. In addition, ProRail will be working on the train tracks between Tilburg and Breda, and between Tilburg and Vught.

Tilburg University has achieved several top positions in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024
10th April 2024In line with previous years, Tilburg University has achieved several top positions in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Since 2020, our university has ranked in the worldwide top 100 in the broad faculty area of Social Sciences & Management. Our ranking rose from a 94th position in 2023 to a 88th position in 2024 in this area.

17th November 2023On October 31, a major data breach involving a LinkedIn database has occurred. The database, spanning several millions of records, containing personal identifiable information, has been offered for sale on a popular hacking forum.

Current student registrations at Tilburg University: number of students stabilizes
15th November 2023To date, 19,506 students are registered at Tilburg University. Student numbers have stabilized and that is in line with Tilburg University’s strategy: quality over quantity. The number of international first-year Bachelor’s students has decreased.

The Executive Board on the war between Israel and Hamas
07th November 2023The war between Israel and Hamas is heartbreaking and, understandably, continues to arouse emotions, also within our academic community. We are all deeply affected by the violent images and the harrowing stories. As the Executive Board, we fervently hope that all the violence and hate will end soon and that dialogue may result in solutions that will lead to lasting peace. We urge our colleagues and students to continue to be caring and connected and to treat each other with consideration and respect.

This is evident from the results of both the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2024 and the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023 by ShanghaiRanking, which were released this week.

Student athletes and the art of balancing athletics and education
24th October 2023Tilburg University’s Wall of Fame welcomes two new inductees this year. Cindy van der Zanden plays softball and has recently qualified for the final round of the 2024 World Championship with Team Kingdom of the Netherlands Women's Fastpitch. Davy Brand has won multiple Dutch and European titles in martial arts, including that of European Kyokushin champion in 2016 and 2021. In 2022, he became world champion.

Winner student challenge in South Africa
23rd October 2023During her exchange semester at the University of Cape Town, Eva Ruzius, third-year student of the Bachelor Global Law participated in a student challenge. This challenge was organized as part of OCW's knowledge mission to South Africa. Eva and her group presented a solution to the challenge ''How can HEIs equip graduates with the right skills to implement a circular economy in the different economic sectors graduates will be employed". With this solution, they won the challenge.

No heat supply in Montesquieu building
18th October 2023Due to unforeseen work/material supply problems in making Montesquieu gasless, heat supply is temporarily not possible in Montesquieu. We expect to be able to provide heat again on October 23.
