Today (February 27, 2023) marks the start of the visit of Prof. Dr. Oliver Alexy from the Technical University of Munich to the Department of Organization Studies. During his visit to the department, he will present his research and exchange research ideas, as well as share his experience with researchers and Ph.D. candidates from the Department of Organization Studies.

More specifically, he will provide a research presentation on Tuesday in the OS research seminar series, and a PhD seminar on the academic job market and life in academia. On Wednesday, he will hold a session with research master students and PhD candidates in the Advanced Topics Session w/ Dr. Zilin He from the Department of Management.

As a full professor of Innovation and Organization Design, he studies how to design organizations that effectively deal with extreme uncertainty, such as high-tech start-ups, R&D units, or online communities. His recent interests mainly revolve around questions of how collaboration, knowledge disclosure, or framing strategies may help uncertainty-facing organizations become more legitimate or more innovative, grow or reestablish themselves, or build or commandeer innovation ecosystems.

Prof. Dr. Alexy will visit us from Monday 27th of February until Thursday 2nd of March! His visit is part of the initiative by the Department of Organization Studies to invite scholars for longer stays for the topic groups in the department. This visit is organized through the Strategic Organization topic group.
