1UP Symposium on games, gamification, health and wellbeing
1UP Symposium on games, gamification, health and wellbeing
Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI), Tilburg University
Games, gamification, and interactive environments overall have increasingly been used as an alternative medium towards the improvement of mental and physical health. According to research, gamified therapeutic sessions appear to increase patients’ engagement and immersion. The first 1UP (OneUP) symposium brings together both academic researchers as well as industrial game designers and developers in order to discuss when, why and how games can be used in health and wellbeing. The symposium will feature talks and real-time demonstrations that cover a wide span of topics, including but not limited to gamification philosophy, games for stress regulation and using games to relieve chronically ill patients.
Note that availability is limited to 60 participants. Accepted participants will be informed through email no sooner than December 20, 2024.
