"Creating impact should be in the DNA of your research"
PhD students who want to create impact with their research can follow the PhD Valorisation Program. The six-month training, organized by the THRIVE Institute in collaboration with Tilburg University's Impact Team, concluded in September 2023. Amber, Dagmar and Shakya share what they have learned and how they hope to create maximum social value with their research findings. "I now know how to network and maintain connections." During the closing session, participants received their certificate.

Paolo and Lieke have been together for half of their lives: "From puppy love to parenthood"

Paolo and Lieke met for the first time 20 years ago, when they started their studies at Tilburg University. “I was 19,” Lieke says dreamily. “I remember seeing Paolo walk by, catching my breath, and thinking: that’s my man!”

Celebrating fifty years Language Center
Having been established in 1973, the Tilburg University Language Center celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year. The Language Center annually helps about three thousand students and staff, as well as other interested parties from outside the university improve their command of a language or learn a completely new one. In the month of the Language Center’s fiftieth anniversary, the first supervisor of the Language Center and the incumbent director meet on the Tilburg University campus.

In the subscription economy, research finds that most of us are oversubscribed
How many subscriptions do you have? A large study by Anna Paley and Niels van de Ven from Tilburg University shows that you probably have more than you realize, and that you’re spending a lot more money on subscription services than you think. The researchers found a new way of nudging people towards better insight into their finances, which proves to be highly effective in helping the oversubscribed cut down on their monthly subscription charges.

No, it wasn’t love at first sight for Hervé Tijssen and Loet van Wijk. The two staff members of the School Office of our Law School needed almost an entire decade in the 1990s to discover that they were more to each other than just colleagues. They have been inseparable for 25 years now and are living the good life, full of joie de vivre, in France.

Joyce Jorritsma and Job Krijnen met in Tilburg in 2006 when they both started their Psychology program. She was eighteen, straight out of secondary school. They had no idea how life-changing that step was going to be.
