How do I use the university's Wi-Fi network?
With eduroam you have easy and secure access to Tilburg Universit's wired and wireless network. You also have to access to the networdks of other institutions that offer eduroam.
In the Netherlands, several eduroam hotspots are already available throughout the country. And not only at various educational institutions, but also in the centre of Tilburg you have access to eduroam.
With public and unsecured Wi-Fi networks, for instance, on trains, at airports, or in restaurants, others may be able to see what you are doing on the internet and what data you are sending.
So do not send sensitive data (e.g., with e-mail or online banking) over networks you do not know or do not trust.
If necessary, use a VPN connection, also on your phone. A VPN encrypts all your internet traffic. This makes it much more difficult for criminals and others to view and manipulate it.
