EFFORTS International Exchange Seminar - expert discussant invitation

Published: 10th March 2022 Last updated: 10th March 2022

This event is part of EFFORTS, a two-year project funded by the Civil Justice Programme of the European Commission (JUST-JCOO-AG-2019-881802) and carried out by an international Consortium composed of the MPI Luxembourg and the Universities of Milan (coord.), Brussels VUB, Heidelberg, Vilnius, and Zagreb.

On 25 February 2022 Dr Elena Alina Ontanu was invited to participate in the online International Exchange Seminar as expert discussant with regard to the European Enforcement Order Regulations. The Seminar sought to gather experts, academics and practitioners from several jurisdictions across the EU to promote dialogue and exchange experiences relating to the regulations covered by the Project, in light of the results of the major publications of the first year activities: the seven Reports for the collection of implementing rules, the seven Reports on national case-law and the six National exchange seminars.

The EFFORTS Project analyses the legislation and case law of seven European Member States, with a view to assessing the interaction between European and national law in the area of recognition and enforcement of judgments and extrajudicial titles. Specifically, EFFORTS examines the implementation of the Brussels I bis and the European Enforcement Order Regulations, as well as the European Payment Order Procedure, European Small Claims Procedure and European Account Preservation Order in the domestic laws of Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, and Luxembourg. Within this context, the EFFORTS International Exchange Seminar aims to collect good practices and fuel the debate among experts of cross-border procedural law.
