Walter Leën Prize for Social Law 2023 awarded, to Ane Aranguiz! The triennial Walter Leën Prize for Social Law is awarded to university graduates who make a special contribution to publications on social law.

The prize is organised by the Walter Leën Fund for Social Law (https://lnkd.in/eqcJK2sQ), founded in 1990 at KU Leuven in memory of the late Professor Jan Walter Leën. The purpose of this fund is to promote the study and dissemination of social law. An overview of the laureates can be found here: https://lnkd.in/ejxk7hNh.

The prize has just been decided for the tenth time by the interuniversity jury: professors Inger De Wilde - UGent, Guido Van Limberghen - Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Wouter Verheyen - UAntwerpen, Christina Hiessl, Paul Schoukens and Johan Put - KU Leuven. She was able to express her opinion on numerous and exceptionally high-quality entries.

After careful consideration, it was decided to award the prize for the period 2020-2022 to ANE ARANGUIZ, Assistant Professor Tilburg University and visiting professor UAntwerp and ULB, for her book Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion in European Union Law (Routledge, 2022), based on her thesis at UAntwerp.

Congratulations to the laureate, and many thanks to the other candidates and the judges!
