The Center for the Future of Dispute Resolution at Ghent University has the pleasure of inviting you to its online colloquium "Transnational Dispute Resolution in an increasingly digitalized world". The colloquium will take place on 24 March 2022 from 9h30-16h50 (CET) in virtual format through the Zoom platform.

The increased digitalization in the field of dispute resolution, which received a boost from the Covid-19 pandemic, raises a number of important questions in terms of privacy, cybersecurity, data protection ad AI, going from rather practical concerns (how to protect the information exchanged, how to organize the taking of evidence, how to comply with the various obligations, etc.) to more fundamental inquiries (does it scare litigants off, does it foster or rather compromise efficiency, etc.).

The goal of the conference is to bring together academics, practitioners and policy makers with
expertise in the field of dispute resolution (arbitration, transnational litigation, mediation, other ADR mechanisms) and technology law.

Speakers include:

  • Prof. dr. Eric Tjong Tjin Tai - Tilburg University, the Netherlands
  • Ass. Prof. Elena Alina Ontanu - Tilburg University, the Netherlands
  • Paul Frenken - Tilburg University, the Netherlands
