Belief in spirits much less irrational than assumed

In philosophy about God, there is little space for research on belief in spirits. Unjustly so, argues Hans van Eygen in his new book "The Epistemology of Spirit Beliefs" (Routledge, 2023). His research assesses whether belief in spirits is epistemically justified. He elaborates on his findings in a blog post and in a podcast.

Some people claim to have all kinds of sightings, mediumship, possession and animistic experiences and refer to the existence of spirits. This book shows how those experiences can provide justification for such belief.
The author published a blogpost on the Prosblogion.com site and he was interviewed in a podcast.
