SG Music: Gonçalo Reis plays Bach

Today is Happy Bach Day! With his marimba classical percussionist Gonçalo Reis pays tribute to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the greatest and most influential composers in classical music, with a solo concert.

Time: 16:45-17:30 hrs.  Doors open 16:30 hrs.
Free entrance, registration is not required, but be in time: limited number of seats available.


Gonçalo Reis 

Classical percussionist, timpanist of the Vu Orkest and a singer/songwriter, Gonçalo Reis is an all-round musician described by his sensibility and unique vision regarding music.

Gonçalo has been playing solo concerts, orchestral/chamber music concerts and singing in front of thousands of people throughout Europe in some of it’s prestigious Halls. He participated in the television program “The Voice Portugal” in 2021, presenting a unique act by playing marimba and singing at the same time. In 2022, Gonçalo won a singing contest called “perdidamente”, promoted by the Portuguese Radio Television. Recently he is doing a Master’s degree at Fontys Academy of Arts.

You know Bach?

Johann Sebastian Bach is one of the greatest and most influential composers in the history of classical music. This exact day, 21 March, in 1685 Bach was born. If you don't know this German Baroque composer and musician very well yet, watch the short animation video in which Bach is introduced in a cheerful way.
