International Open Access Week 2023 – Workshop "Unlocking Open Access Book Publishing with Open Press”

To celebrate the importance and set the commitment to open access, the Library Research Support team is organizing a special World Café workshop titled "Unlocking Open Access Book Publishing with Open Press”. This workshop will provide the Tilburg University research community a hands-on opportunity to explore open access book publishing and community-driven initiatives through Open Press Tilburg University.

The theme for this year's International Open Access Week, happening between October 23rd and 27th, centers on "Community over Commercialization." Open Access Week 2023 presents an opportunity to unite, take action, and raise awareness regarding the importance of the community regaining control of the scholarly communication system.

What to Expect: 
Step-by-Step Guide: Discover the entire process of publishing an open book with Open Press, from submission to publication
Exploring Open Press Resources: Get hands-on experience with Open Press tools and workflows, with a particular focus on the Manifold platform
Community Engagement: Engage with like-minded scholars and researchers in promoting open access book publishing

How It Works: 
The World Café structure uses multiple rounds of small, focused conversations among participants. The format will encourage diverse perspectives and collaborative discussion on the topic of the International Open Access Week “Community over Commercialization.”
