Anke Liefbroer (Tilburg School of Catholic Theology) was honored yesterday as one of the four finalists of the national Teacher of the Year election in Theater De Kom in Nieuwegein. Our congratulations to the winner, Peter Pelzer (Utrecht University), finalists Hanneke Velthuijsen (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), Chris Attai (Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen), and of course our own Tilburg University colleague Anke Liefbroer.

Recognition of excellent teaching

Dutch National Students’ Association ISO organizes the national election every year, showcasing inspiring teachers, a valuable recognition of excellent teaching. Wim van de Donk, Rector Magnificus and President of the Tilburg University Executive Board, attended the election ceremony and expresses his pride: “As a university, we are committed to educational innovation and talent development among our instructors. We are therefore extremely proud that, for the second year in a row, a Tilburg University instructor is a finalist in the national Teacher of the Year election. Anke truly deserves her place in the final with her wonderful contribution as an instructor and as a role model for other instructors.”

New Master’s program of Spiritual Care

In co-creation with her colleagues, Anke Liefbroer has developed a new two-year Master’s program of Spiritual Care (in Dutch). “The courses offered in this Master’s are explicitly connected to recent developments in research and the professional field,” Anke states. “And I am proud to announce that it is now possible to enroll in this new Master’s for the 2024-2025 academic year (the location is Utrecht).”
