Dutch Human Rights Ambassador Bahia Tahzib-Lie calls for dialogue in education
The Dutch Human Rights Ambassador, Bahia Tahzib-Lie, will call for an intergenerational dialogue on human rights with young people at the center, on International Human Rights Day on December 10. She is convinced that human rights should have a greater place in schools and universities. On December 10th Bahia Tahzib-Lie will deliver the Max van der Stoel Human Rights Lecture at Tilburg University.
About Bahia Tahzib-Lie
As Human Rights Ambassador, Bahia Tahzib-Lie promotes human rights in the world on behalf of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. She is also committed to stimulating dialogue on human rights in the Netherlands and abroad. Previously, she was, among other things, ambassador of the Netherlands in Qatar, special envoy for UN affairs of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and private secretary to HM Queen Máxima.
Max van der Stoel Human Rights Lecture and presentation of Human Rights Awards
The Max van der Stoel Human Rights Lecture is organized every two years on International Human Rights Day by Tilburg Law School and the Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research (NNHRR) of the T.M.C. Asser Institute and co-sponsored by Studium Generale. The ceremony will be followed by the presentation of the Max van der Stoel Human Rights Awards. These two prizes are awarded for the best dissertation and the best master's thesis in the field of human rights defended at Dutch and Flemish universities. The lecture and awards are named after Max van der Stoel, former OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities and Professor of International and European Law at Tilburg University.
