On February 14, 2024, Dutch Parliament has approved the appointment of Professor Kim Putters as informateur. On the same day, he accepted this mission to oversee the next round of talks to try and form a new government. Kim Putters is the president of the Dutch Social and Economic Council (SER). Between 2013 and 2022, Putters was director of the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau, SCP), in which capacity he has been involved in efforts to form new governments before.

Kim Putters has been affiliated to Tilburg University as University Professor of Broad Prosperity since 2022. A University Professor is a special position for a leading professor with a distinguished academic track record who is broadly interested in academic and policy issues. Broad Prosperity is an important strategic theme for Tilburg University, focusing on three interdisciplinary research themes: the sustainability transition, inequality, and health and wellbeing. These broad social themes are studied with a distinctly Tilburg approach, including a combination of law and legislation, markets and organizations, civil society, and data and technology.

Tilburg University congratulates Kim Putters with this honorable mission.
