Ik ben een politiek socioloog geïnteresseerd in sociale en politieke verandering. Specifiek bestudeer ik hoe sociale bewegingen erin slagen of falen om gewenste uitkomsten te bereiken: van het mobiliseren van deelnemers, over media aandacht en publieke opinie steun, tot beleidsverandering. Ik behaalde mijn doctoraat in 2013, kreeg een post-doc beurs van het FWO (2014-17), was visting scholar aan Stanford University (2015-16), werkte aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam (2017-19), voor het 'Civil Society Innovation Flanders'-project (2019) en als senior onderzoeker bij onderzoeksgroep Media, Middenveld & Politiek (Universiteit Antwerpen). Mijn huidig onderzoek focust op de responsiviteit van politici op sociale media ten opzichte van straat protest.
