Bio

Ik onderzoek individuele verschillen in waarneming, en hoe die individuele verschillen onze subjectieve ervaringen, cognitie, en interacties met de omgeving beïnvloeden. Mijn specialisatie is synesthesie, waarbij zintuiglijke ervaringen door elkaar lopen, en crossmodale waarneming. Ik onderzoek ook hoe synesthesie samenhangt met andere condities zoals autisme. Andere onderzoeksonderwerpen zijn individuele verschillen in mentaal voorstellingsvermorgen (van aphantasia tot hyperphantasia) en sensorische gevoeligheid (hoogsensitiviteit), en de impact van deze eigenschappen op interacties met de omgeving.
