Focus on Impact: Youth in times of corona
In 2020, the Impact Team organizes several events. Inspirational speakers share how they design and conduct research aiming to create impact on society. This is the first event in this series. Due to the developments surrounding COVID-19 the set up and theme of Focus on Impact has changed.
On June 18th 2020 a webinar will take place on “Youth in times of corona”. The lock down as a result of the pandemic affects all Dutch people. Youngsters and children are hit particularly hard. At an important stage in their lives, they are in a crisis of which the impact, scope and depth are not known, nor how society will bounce back. This creates a lot of uncertainty.
The question arises what perspective and help we can offer to prevent, for example, long-term unemployment, drop-out at school, (chronic) psychological problems, increased family conflict and developmental issues. In short: how do we prevent the emergence of a corona generation?
Following the webinar, three podcasts will be published in which the speakers/ interviewees will dive deeper into the sub themes from the webinar.
