International Conference Connecting Responsible Organizations

In an era in which globalization empowers multinational corporations to employ and manage expansive global value chains (GVCs), our conference brings together experts from various legal disciplines. The focus is on assessing diverse regulatory avenues that address environmental and social sustainability challenges in these GVCs.

The conference, scheduled for 18-19 January 2024 at Tilburg Law School, Tilburg University in the Netherlands, is structured around six interconnected panels, that provide a comprehensive exploration of the subject matter.

The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, alongside various other legal and regulatory initiatives, challenges transnational companies to conscientiously address environmental and social sustainability issues. These global instruments call for the internalization of negative externalities that often accompany global business practices.

Our conference provides a platform to explore emerging binding legislation, which serves to complement the voluntary regulatory frameworks currently in place. This evolving legal landscape intersects with multiple legal fields, which calls for a comprehensive understanding of each field’s role in promoting sustainable practices within organizations and their GVCs.
