Carnaval

Opwèèreme meej Veul Gère

Date: Time: 16:00 Location: O'Café Sportcentrum

The annual get together of carnival society the Wèèsneuze will take place in the week before Carnival. On the 8th of February 2024, we're joining forces with our sporty friends from the Carnival Volleyball Tournament. Just before the tournament kicks off, the Wèèsneuze will gather and throw a fantastic party. None other than Veul Gère will be helping us get in the Carnival spirit.

Veul Gère

In mid-January, they didn't just have one, but three sold-out shows at the pop venue 013. The true locals, known as the Kruiken of Veul Gère, excel at entertaining the audience with their famous hits like 'De Gròzzie van Mèn Buurvrouw,' 'Solo!,' 'Un Lekker Delleke' and their latest hit 'Carnavallen (met z'n allen).' On February 8, they're set to recreate the magic at the annual Wèèsneuze event. You wouldn't want to miss it!

Warming up for carnival

At 4:00 PM, CV de Wèèsneuze welcomes everyone to O'Cafe at the Sports Center. DJ Alex Sinke will get us in the mood. And alongside Veul Gère, CV Vusteveul will also perform their song "Maawe Meude Mèèrege" that they created for Zumme Zinge?!, the song contest of Kruikenstad. The title of this song is also the motto of carnival in Kruikenstad this year. Translated freely, it means: you can complain tomorrow. The party will end around 6:00 PM after which you can continue and support all participants of the Carnival Volleyball Tournament.

Wèèsneuze badge

We hope to welcome all of you at the Tilburg University kickoff of carnival. And, of course, you proudly wear the Wèèsneuze badge on your carnival outfit. Not a member yet? Sign up quickly. Already a member but no badge? You can either get it during the event on February 8 or pick it up beforehand at Koopmans building, at the Marketing & Communication secretariat in room K1114.

CV de Wèèsneuze

CV de Wèèsneuze is the carnival society of Tilburg University, open to all staff, students, and alumni. During carnival we connect with each other, with the city, the region and beyond. And connecting, that’s what CV de Wèèsneuze is all about. Even for those who didn’t learn to celebrate carnival at their mother’s knee. CV de Wèèsneuze welcomes anyone to whom carnival is second nature or who is curious about it, cares about the university, and also wants to be part of our academic community in this way.
