Current student registrations at Tilburg University: number of students stabilizes
15th November 2023To date, 19,506 students are registered at Tilburg University. Student numbers have stabilized and that is in line with Tilburg University’s strategy: quality over quantity. The number of international first-year Bachelor’s students has decreased.

Springer OA Agreement: maximum cap reached
15th November 2023The Springer Transformative Agreement with the Dutch university libraries has reached, on the 9th of November, its article maximum quota allocation for the current year of 2023. If your manuscript is accepted between now and January 1, 2024, the Open Access (OA) publishing costs will no longer be covered by the agreement.

Wilma de Koning new Vice-President of Tilburg University Executive Board
10th November 2023Wilma de Koning will become the new Vice-President of the Executive Board of Tilburg University on November 15, 2023. She succeeds Vice-President Paulina Snijders, who will join the Board of Directors of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) on September 1, 2023.

We are all deeply affected by the violent images and the harrowing stories. Tilburg University and local businesses join forces for sustainable logistics: ‘Collaboration is in the Brabant DNA’
03rd November 2023There are few places in Europe where logistical activity is as strongly developed as in the region of Central Brabant. Over the coming years, the logistics sector in Brabant aims to lead the way in transitioning towards a sustainable future, where robust economic growth goes hand in hand with broad prosperity in the region. To shape this future, Tilburg University and local entrepreneurs have jointly established the Tilburg Initiative for Future Logistics (TIFL).

Tilburg University partner in Region Deal Central Brabant
02nd November 2023On November 1, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior launched the Regional Deal on ‘Entrepreneurship, innovation, and experimentation with a people-oriented focus’. This Central Brabant Regional Deal consists of nine projects aimed at promoting broad prosperity, on regional and national levels. Tilburg University fulfils a role in five of the nine projects.

Belief in spirits much less irrational than assumed

Unjustly so, argues Hans van Eygen in his new book "The Epistemology of Spirit Beliefs" (Routledge, 2023). His research assesses whether belief in spirits is epistemically justified. He elaborates on his findings in a blog post and in a podcast.
