E-mail 'Register as a candidate for the University Council or School Council' can be considered secure

Published: 04th March 2024 Last updated: 04th March 2024

On Monday, March 11, an e-mail will be sent to all employees and students from the external party 'Het Stembureau' (voting application). This e-mail allows you to register as a candidate for the University Council or the School Council between March 11 and 13. Since this e-mail will be marked as ‘external’ in Outlook, and the sender is unknown, it might evoke some questions. We appreciate everyone’s awareness when it comes to (cyber) security risks, but want to inform you that this e-mail is genuine and safe to open.

Emails coming from external email addresses have been marked as external in Outlook since January. This is a security measure that helps you identify phishing, spam and other malicious emails from external senders. Note: the flagging does not mean it is a phishing or spam e-mail. It’s merely a quick way to see that the e-mail does not come from an internal source.
