Special administrators

The university has a portraits’ room in the Cobbenhagen Building, which contains the drawn portraits of all Rectores Magnifici, as well as photo adaptations of all female honorary doctorates.

In addition, the collection includes four portraits of administrators with particular merit for the institution:

Prof. Martinus Cobbenhagen (1893- 1954), full professor of economics and author of the blueprint of the first curriculum. Portrait by Jean Adams, 1955.

Prof. Thomas Goossens (1882-1970), historian, first Rector Magnificus and also responsible for financial affairs in the first decades. Portrait by Jan van Delft, 1929.

Prof. Piet Verheyen (1931-2021), full professor of economics and administrator multiple times, including President of the Executive Board. Portrait by Paul van Dongen, 2001.

Mr. Yvonne van Rooy (1951), former secretary of state and the first female president in the Netherlands of a university Executive Board. Portrait by Fred Schley, 2003.
