French for beginners 2

This course is the continuation of French for beginners 1 and provides a broader basis. All skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) are covered in roughly equal measure, but the emphasis is on oral communication.

The practice activities focus on practical and realistic situations such as talking about your experiences, giving your opinion, or making recommendations. This makes the lessons immediately applicable. Each lesson is enriched with aspects of daily life in France, such as eating habits, daily schedule, and literature. When appropriate, French current affairs are also discussed.

By the end of the course, you will have reached level A2 of the European Reference Framework. You will then be able to

  • write a portrait of someone;
  • read a simple text;
  • talk about past events and life experiences;
  • make suggestions and recommendations;
  • formulate and confront opinions;
  • narrate your experiences in the past tense;
  • understand the differences and similarities between your own culture and those of French-speaking countries and make them comprehensible to others to facilitate communication;
  • advance to French - Intermediate.
