My research at the intersection of personality, social, work, and organizational psychology involves innovative methods such as analyzing videos from job applicants using machine learning models to predict personality traits from voice, facial expressions, or text. I’m working with theoretical frameworks on how traits and situations explain behavior (e.g., Trait Activation Theory) and the accuracy of personality assessment (e.g., Brunswik’s lens model, Realistic Accuracy Model, Self-other knowledge asymmetry model), and I’m using techniques such as meta-analysis, factor analysis, text-analysis and (with the help of co-authors) machine learning. I'm a big fan of open science and transparency in academic research. I’m also interested in topics that might be fun and captivating, including debunking pseudoscience or exploring cognitive and visual illusions, and topics that might explain why people behave the way they do, in general.
