TLS: Private, Business and Labour Law

Bio

Debadatta Bose is a postdoctoral researcher working on how fundamental labour standards are reflected in business and human rights instruments. His specialisation and expertise includes Third World Approaches to International Law, international economic law, private law theory, corporate responsibility and human rights law.

Debadatta has primarily taught courses on international economic laws and sustainable development, both from a classical and critical perspective. He has published in various journals including the ICSID Review and the Business and Human Rights Journal. His most recent publication is in the latter, called 'Decentring Narratives around Business and Human Rights Instruments: An Example of the French Devoir de Vigilance Law' where he traces how the narrative behind the adoption of the law may unmask the neo-colonial underpinnings of the law that seeks to extraterritorially regulate human rights standards of corporate conduct.
