mr.dr. Dorris de Vocht

Bio

As of 1st of March 2023 Dorris de Vocht joined the department of criminal law as associate professor. Before coming to Tilburg, she worked at Maastricht University where she obtained her masters in criminal law (cum laude) as well as her doctorate.

Previous teaching and research experience involve different fields of criminal (procedure) law with a strong focus on (comparative) criminal procedure, evidence law and juvenile criminal law. Dorris has been involved in several European studies on procedural safeguards such as the project 'Young Suspects in Interrogation' which focused on procedural rights for young suspects during interrogation. She is currently doing research on the effects of virtual justice on fair trial rights. 

In addition to her work in academia, she also works as a substitute judge for the Limburg Court.
