Bio

My work is partly at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands, and partly at Tilburg University (CSIA). The work is fun and exciting! It is on the (statistical) development, and applications with machine learning. Before this I worked in the cybersecurity sector and before that as data science consultant for among others the financial (ING), telecom (KPN), and flight (KLM).

During my academic years, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology, and later at the VU; on the statistical development of methods for the analysis of cancer genomics and the genetics of Neuroscience. My Ph.D. was at the Erasmus University Medical Center in collaboration with Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.

Expertise

Machine learning, statistics, open-source developer.

There is a wide range of topics and domains that interest me today. The basis is formed by machine learning and statistics. During my first academic years, I worked intensively on the stratification of patients with cancer/neurological changes using their genomics/genetics. Later I worked on various problems in the industry using textmining, image-recognition, sensoring data sets, and in the field of cyber security.
