Bio
My name is Sabina Weistra and I am a PhD candidate at Tilburg University. After a bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences at University College Roosevelt (Utrecht University) I completed two masters, in Child Development and Education (University of Oxford) and Child and Adolescent Psychology (Leiden University).
I am currently investigating how parental youth experiences influence how parents subsequently interact with their children. This project is a collaboratory effort between Youz (Parnassia Groep) and Tilburg University.
My mission with this research is to beter understand newly become parents who experience difficulties in relation with their child and have a past of adverse childhood experiences. I believe this knowledge is the first step to devise appropriate interventions for this group of parents.
