Bio

Dr. Sanita van Wyk works as a Lecturer at Tilburg University. She is a qualified Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, and was previously a doctoral researcher at the Berlin Centre of Caspian Region Environmental and Energy Studies (CREES) at Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) and a TOP 20 awarded postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). She is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL) and Women Leaders for Planetary Health (WLPH). She is the author of the book entitled: The Impact of Climate Change Law on the Principle of State Sovereignty over Natural Resources. Her primary fields of research include international law, comparative law and environmental law (with a focus on climate change law). Her current research is focused on the intersection between business and environmental law.
