Trisha Cruz is an International Business Law Lecturer at the Department of Private, Business and Labor Law at Tilburg Law School (TLS). She is a course coordinator and lecturer for Finance and Entrepreneurship, and previously, Risk Management and Data Protection, apart from lecturing in six (6) other business courses under the Joint Bachelor in Data Science (JADS) . She obtained her LL.M. and M.A. under the EMLE (European Master in Law and Economics) Program at the University of Vienna and the Erasmus University Rotterdam; and her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law.
She is a foreign qualified lawyer with 10 years of experience. Prior to working at TLS, she was a Partner in a Manila Law Firm where she headed the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.
Trisha is also a PhD candidate at the Tilburg Graduate Law School, with her research focusing on Corporate Sustainable Behavior in supply chains.
Litigation and Commercial Arbitration: In her early years of practice, she engaged in general litigation involving Environmental Law, Family Law (custody, adoption, support, annulments), Estates and Trusts, Contracts, Criminal Law, Commercial Law (banking and foreclosures), Women's and Children's Rights, Labor Law, and Tax Litigation. She has appeared before various tribunals, from first level trial courts, to the Supreme Court. She also engaged in various Special Projects, including property due diligence and acquisition. Her practice included Commercial Arbitration, both locally and abroad.
Corporate Law: Later on, she transitioned to Corporate Law Practice, where she handled business formation and registration of (foreign) companies, and provided corporate housekeeping and advice as retained counsel to large domestic and/or multinational corporations. She also specialized in M&As, with a focus on legal due diligence.
