Xichen is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Department of Management, Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He has a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Operations and Supply Chain Management) from Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. He holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Kobe University, Japan, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Tianjin University of Technology, China.

Xichen's research lies at the intersection of service and sustainable operations, emphasizing the alignment of companies’ economic and environmental goals via various industrial endeavors. His work applies a broad set of methodological skills, including game theory, econometrics, empirically grounded analytics, system dynamics modeling, qualitative meta-analysis, and grounded theory.
Xichen taught Operations Management at Mays Business School. He currently teaches Supply Chain Design and Planning and Data-Driven Design Approaches in SCM at Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He co-founded BV Startup, a Texas 4-H club that facilitates positive youth development in communication, leadership, and teamwork skills through various entrepreneurial activities. He is also a Community Partner of Texas Youth Action Network. Xichen is passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of business leaders.
