Melis Kirgil

Bio

My research focuses on societal transitions and behavior change at different levels of analysis. I investigate how collective intentionality affects cooperation on the micro, meso and macro level. In another line of research, I study leadership and governance in times of crisis via computational and qualitative text analysis. I am currently interested in gender norms over time and across different social spheres (i.e. in organisations, families and networks).

I completed my PhD in Sociology at Stockholm University and was a visiting PhD student at Duke University and Utrecht University.
