Multidisciplinary project consortium
The DIGIQUITY4HEALTH consortium brings together expertise from economics, psychology, business, ethics, and behavioural and digital sciences to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the complex system and individual-level factors influencing food consumption behaviour. Each discipline contributes unique insights and methodologies, allowing for a holistic examination of the multifaceted nature of (un)healthy lifestyles.
Duration
The project will run from January 2024 – December 2027.
Participation and co-creation with public and private parties
It is important to combine forces in finding long-term solutions to enable people to lead a healthy life. The consortium therefore includes private parties Nakko and AiMark.
Nakko is the Dutch market leader in the realm of food retail applications. Its versatile software suite encompasses a variety of tools that support the use of shopping lists, recipes, self-scanning and product browsing. The Nakko services are integrated in a wide range of supermarket apps, providing customers with a seamless shopping experience, both online and in physical stores. AiMark is a research institute that connects academic researchers with global market research agencies like GfK, Kantar Worldpanel, and Europanel. They facilitate academic research based on global databases and research facilities from commercial research firms.
Other collaborative partners are Centerdata, for collection of survey data, and MindLabs, for recruitment and dissemination of results.
To ensure intervention adoption and acceptance by retailers and potential end-users, involvement from stakeholders and end-users is important. Societal and private stakeholders are represented by a sounding board, which is involved in all phases of the project.
In addition, to co-create with end users, a Digital Sciences Lower SEP advisory panel will be set up with representatives lower in SEP. To realise this, there will be a collaboration with Prof Dr Gera Nagelhout at the IVO Research Institute and Maastricht University, who has previously successfully implemented an advisory panel with people who have a low income level at Maastricht University.
