Communication and Cognition
Gain insights about Cognition, Language and Communication and become an expert in how people process information online and offline, master conversation characteristics and learn to understand the psychological aspects of communication. This is a track of MSc Communication and Information Sciences.

Program and courses
In this track you learn how to use language in digital applications, ranging from email to messenger systems and social media channels. Additionally you will learn how people interpret emotions, make choices and convince others. By studying the communication processes you also learn communicate effectively yourself!
This is a track of MSc Communication and Information Sciences. You can choose to follow the main program or one of the tracks.

Career prospects
Upon graduating you will have obtained the following title (as stated on your diploma): MSc Communication and Information Sciences, Communication and Cognition.
As a Master of Science with a specialization in Communication and Cognition you are able to conduct research on the transfer of information through textual and non-verbal communication. Moreover, you will be capable of advising people about writing a clear, attractive and convincing text according to various communication objectives.

Application and admission
This program starts:
At the end of August and at the end of January (both the Master’s and the Pre-Master’s programs)
Best preparatory programs:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication & Information Sciences, Communication Studies and Linguistics.
- The academic background of the students in our Master's program varies a lot. If you have a Bachelor's degree in a different subject area than those mentioned above you are also welcome to apply if you have basic knowledge of and followed courses on, for example, communication theory, psycholinguistics, social psychology, or business communication.
