Facilities in the university library
You can borrow materials by showing your university card or Library card
- In the catalog (WorldCat Local) by yourself or via the button borrower info.
- By telephone, in person or by e-mail via the Library Support.
Extending is not possible
- When the book has been reserved by somebody else.
- When you have a fine. Only when the materials have been returned and the fine has been paid you can make use of all borrowing facilities.
A large part of our book and journal collection is situated in the closed stacks (not freely accessible). As a location code the materials have the code CBM or CBC. You can submit a depot request for these books and journals.
Students and Staff can use AV materials free of charge for education and research purposes, as well as events.
Interlibrary loan (ILL)
Students and Staff can submit a request for books and journal article scans from other (national and international). This is called an Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

You can pay with cash or by card at the Library Support Desk. If you wish to use the vending machines at the Study Café you can pay with a bank card with contactless payment.
Lockers are available in the library (one day only) and work with a (chip) card.
Copy, print and scan
There are several multi functional printers (MFP) in the Library where you can print, copy and scan.
For visitors it is possible to print from the catalog PC's and request use of a photocopier. Please ask a member of staff at the Library Support Desk if you require these services.
There are PC's for searching the catalog on all floors of the library. They require no log in. You can use the reference PC's for searching in the catalog and almost all the other library databases.
Eating and drinking is only allowed in the Study Café at level 1. Here, you will also find the vending machines. The machines accept payment with a contactless bank card.
There are study areas on each floor without a PC which are freely available. The study places with a computer are for students and staff only. It is possible to make a reservation.
Early Bird study places: these PCs cannot be booked in advance. First come, first served applies. In the reservation system these places are indicated with the code 240xx.
Visitors from other universities can log in to the Eduroam wireless network with their own credentials. Other users can obtain a username and password for the network, by sending a text message. This information is shown on the screens in the library and throughout the campus.
