You can borrow materials on presentation of your Tilburg University card or library card

Collect Tilburg University Card

When you have requested your card, within two weeks you will receive a notification in your Tilburg University e-mail when your card is ready and can be collected at the Library. On weekdays, you can pick it up from 8 am to 6 pm. Please bring your ID card or passport when you come to pick up the card.

Extending loan period

Extension is not possible

  • If the book has been reserved by another borrower.
  • If you are fined.
    Once the books have been returned and the fine has been paid, you can make use of the loan facilities again.

Depot request

In our depot (not freely accessible) you will find a large part of the book and magazine collection (Vindplaats CBM or CBC and magazines from before 2006). These can be requested via an application for depot request.

AV materials

Tilburg University staff and students can reserve AV materials for teaching and research purposes and events. If the equipment is used for these purposes, there is no charge.

Interlibrary loan (ILL)

Employees and students of TiU can request books and scans of journal articles from other libraries (from home and abroad) via the Interlibrary Loan System (ILL).


You can pay only by card at the Library Support Desk. If you wish to use the vending machines at the Study Café you can pay with a bank card with contactless payment.

IT Support (for students and staff Tilburg University)


Lockers are available in the library (one day only) and work with a (chip) card.

Copy, print and scan

Several multifunctional printers (MFPs) are available in the library.

It is possible for visitors to make limited use of the printing and copying facilities.  Please report to the Library Support Desk.

Reference PCs

There are PC's for searching the catalog on all floors of the library. They require no log in. You can use the reference PC's for searching in the catalog and almost all the other library databases.

Study Café

Eating and drinking is only allowed in the Study Café at level 1. Here, you will also find the vending machines. The machines accept payment with a contactless bank card.

Study areas elsewhere on  campus


Visitors from other universities can log in to the Eduroam wireless network with their own credentials. Other users can obtain a username and password for the network, by sending a text message. This information is shown on the screens in the library and throughout the campus.
